Rain, rain and more rain.

England is famous for the bad weather, but this is seriously taking the piss! For the past 3 months we have not seen more than two consecutive days of sunshine, and instead of being glad of having sunshine I am just glad that it's not raining. I am becoming a true Brit... I can't stop talking about the weather. One major side effect to all this constant weather change is that my mood seems to be doing the same. I will wake up all happy to the sunshine, then by noon I am groggy and sleepy as the big fat rain cloud hovers over my head. Where is the summer, I ask. All the summer dresses I bought back in April are being pushed to the back of the wardrobe, still waiting for their official outing outside the house (yes, I sometimes just put them on in the house to cheer myself up. Don't you do the same?! oh...). Yes, yes a holiday IS booked, but that is not till September... it's so close... yet so far away. Besides, wouldn't want the boyfriend to see me in my current pasty white state. And no, I can't go for a fake tan, I am too scared that with my Asian skin it will only turn me orange, rather than that beautifully sun kissed shade. *sigh*

This morning with the sun shining and the the usual grey cloud hanging in the distance, I decided a spot of retail therapy should do the trick in cheering myself up... and did it work? Nope. The shoes and dress I wanted have yet to hit the shops, and most shops are just full of heaps of sorry looking clothes that no one wants with labels of 70% off stuck on them, as the shops' last ditch attempt in trying to shift them into our bulging wardrobes. I ended up in Boarders, curled up in an armchair in the Starbucks section with my huge mug of sugary coffee and couple of books I casually picked up near the entrance. One of the book is called 'Sleeping around. Secrets of a sexual adventuress', by Catherine Townsend, and the other is called something like 'Why men loves bitches'. The latter turned out to be a shitty book that basically can be summed up by that good old saying, "treat them mean, keep them keen". The former however, is turning out to be a fun read so far, a good distraction from the fact that I am still waiting for my 7th Harry Potter book to be delivered (I wanted an American version you see... long story), the book basically is like Sex and the City, but in print, about an adventurous American girl living it up in London. I am only 40 pages into the book, and already I got some steaming action between the girl and her ex and a MFF threesome. Fun, trashy, just like a good gossip celeb mag, a perfect way to cheer myself up.
