pretty pretty roses!

Sorry for not updating regularly, but with my looming dissertation deadline there just doesn't seem to be any room in my mind for other thoughts, and no time to get involved in any extracurricular activities.

what was that we just did?!?!!

My 24th birthday came and went and I had lots fun over that weekend. The party at Stella's on Friday night was amazing and lots of people turned up to our little gathering. Stella cooked us some scrumptious food and bought couple of the most spectacular cakes! We then headed on to AKA as planned and from then on the 'standard' of the evening kinda just slipped...oops. Yeah, both Elfie and I are completely shocked as you can see!

size DOES matter!

On the Saturday, the day of my actual birthday, saw the birth of Buckley's little sister, Aimee (Thanks to Orestes and Raphael). Just like her big brother she's snow white in colour, but weights mere 0.78 ounce. Needless to say, I was shocked and overwhelmed with happiness! :)

Who would have thought that writing a dissertation could be this hard? I am struggling to put ideas to points, points to sentences, sentences to paragraphs, paragraphs to chapters.....basically, I am useless!

This week is full of bitter and sweet things,

Bitter: I have to get chapter summaries and a small chapter out by tomorrow!
Bitter: I have to get my ass in gear, go to the RIBA lib again and sort myself out!
Bitter: Root canal treatment to a tooth that's already infected and puss filled (sorry...just had to lower the tone)!

Sweet: New shoes!
Sweet: Orestes has finally got on that plane and now heading this way...hopefully it will make him feel much happier!
Super Sweet: My first birthday party this Friday (ok its a joint thing with Orestes) at Stellas and crazy cocktails to be had afterwards! Though that also means I am getting oooooold........

Better looking in photos than real life.

Managed to get into 100% Design last week to check out the latest products in the hip industry ( pics in my flickr album ). Went with Alexandros (aka Nigel Height for the day) and just happened to stumble into an interesting seminar by Konstantin Grcic. He introduced us to three of his latest designs and described how 'ideas are turned into products'. The seminar was so fascinating I wanted to corner the man and make him offer me a job! Instead I just came away with still the dream of working in a design company just like that. I want to built 1:1 models and really get to grips with a product! The latest issue of Icon is on London and has interviews with all the top dogs in the design industry at the moment... it's interesting and confirms my thoughts about moving to the Capital... I am hoping I can afford it!

For now it's back to Bath and my dissertation! Oh, and I am hoping to hit the tiles in London on Friday 14th of Oct for both me and Orestes birthday... let me know if you fancy joining us!
