Isn't it amazing how sunshine transforms a place? Since I got back, the weather has been grey and horrible (which just doesn't help me get out of my depression), but today the sun decides to show his face....Suddenly I can see the beauty in Bath again!

My holiday in Greece had come to an end last Friday, as British Airways dragged me back (almost kicking and screaming). After having not seen a drop of rain for over 3 weeks, the plane landed in Heathrow with the rain pouring outside....typical. I am now in the process of pulling myself out of the post holiday/relationship depression..........
I must thank everyone who has taken me to all the cool places in Athens, and hi to all my new friends out there. I will definitely go back ASAP! I love Greece! Its now one of my favorite countries!
Anyhow...Here is a quick summary of my Greece tour, complete with pics of course.
Yes! The Olympic stadium.....this should go with my last entry really. I wish I bought the tickets to see the closing ceremony when it was going for 100 euros! I will just have to go to the next one!
No Greece tour would be complete without visiting THE Parthenon. With our brilliant tour guide, Orestes, I now know things like this are all called 'ancient shit'. It's amazing, and makes you think its a giant stage set when you walk around Athens, as if you are in the Truman show!
Here is Sarakiniko, Milos! Whiter than white volcanic rocks, complete with crystal clear water. Yes, it was heaven! This is my first proper beach holiday and I loved every minute of it. I can so get used to a life style like that...Sleep, beach, food! The lesson I have learned from here is... Always ask the bar man where to go and eat! Thanks to him, we went to this tavern that served amazing Greek food....ahhhh, drooling just think about it!
My first Design hotel experience (something tells me this won't be the last) is at Semiramis! Designed by Karim Rashid, it's complete with pink, green, orange and curves...What more does a hotel want?! I loved it, and I loved the fact that everything in the hotel was designed properly and thought about. It just pleases my eyes sooooo much!!!
Wonderful collection by Dakis Joannou (owner of the hotel above). My favorite pieces were ones done by Tim Noble and Sue Webster. No, I am not talking about the famous 'light bulb' ones, the pieces I liked were 'Dirty white Trash (with Gulls)' and 'He/She'. Simple ideas are always the best!
As you can see, my holiday in Greece is definitely one I will remember forever! I felt strangely at home in Athens, because there are so many similarities between there and Taiwan. All the concrete flats, buildings that don't really fit well together, the culture....etc, etc. I will definitely go back there! Who knows....I might even learn Greek?!

Ahhh, at last I have made it to Greece! The sun is shining and every thing looks amazing. I would at this point share some pics, and they will be attached soon! Saw a female basketball game, wasn't terribly exciting but at least we got to go into the main stadium area. We originaly were going to get into the main stadium without paying a penny, coz they advertized the slow walk race as 'unticketed event' (meaning, you don't need one to get in). so we all woke up early, packed our bags, got there, and only to be turned away at the gate because apparently we need a ticket!! They told us that apparently some tickets were given out as part of a package with 0 price on it. But you cannot 'buy' the tickets any where and they can't print it at the box office which is right next to the gates! soooo...to get in we had to pay 20 euros (for the basketball game)!!!! Well, seen that they did such a good job at opening and closing ceremony...I will forgive them this time! Anyway.....will attach photos soon and blog about our Milos holiday!
