Last weekend I went to London Village to check out the galleries for my all important end of the year project. I was very excited about the whole trip as it has been a while since I have done anything cultural, and I have heard many good things about the latest installation in the Turbine hall at Tate Modern.

The weather project by Olafur Eliasson

This installation is absolutely amazing! The impact it has on people is just fascinating....If, like me, you enjoy a bit of 'people watching', then you will love it here. People were actually more interested in their reflections in the giant mirrored ceiling than the huge glowing sun. Adults behave like kids...and kids just go crazy. You also get the 'art' students, who takes more picture of people's reaction than the actual installation....myself included! If you haven't yet seen the project then you must go and take a look!

Five angels for the Millenium by Bill Viola

All in all, my trip to London has proved to be very successful in pointing me towards the right direction, and I have decided...galleries are best done alone!

Happy Chinese New Year everybody! It's the year of the monkey! Put on your new red clothes and go out have fun!

How many architects does it take to make a 'glider'? Well, the answer is.... More than 3! We were put into groups of 3 architects to make a flying glider..There were more than 40 groups and only one made it across the sports hall! Who said a degree in Architecture is boring hey?

I finally finished and handed in the two worst essays ever.......hhuuurrraayyy! I have slaved over them for 2 weeks and the end results were not that impressive at all, but hey...At least they are done and out of the way! Now all I have to think about is my end big project! From now on till June, I have to work on my final big project, which can be anything I want to build (no brief) and the site is the stretch of land next to the canal from Devices to Bath. So if anyone has any clever ideas...Please drop me a note! I want as many ideas as possible! Whether I pass or fail this degree all depends on this project! HELP! (again)

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Yes! I am back into the country of fog and rain! Woke up at 3am in Sweden on new years eve and pretty much traveled non stop till 4pm when I am back in Bath. Then went into Bristol to go to the new years eve thing at the Brisol Acadamy. It was definitely a good New Years Eve, as the DJs were good and the music got everyone dancing.

My holiday in Sweden was fantastic. I got the white Christmas I wanted, and the food was soooo good, I have my waist line to show for it. Went to Stockholm for a day, and did some site seeing.....Which resulted in 2 new pairs of shoes!

The whole place was underneath a big white blanket, and it all looked so beautiful! Just like schemes you see on Christmas cards. We also ventured into Uppsala and did some site seeing, well, tried to anyway. I now know its impossible to not slip on ice and observe the architecture!
